In 2020 I graduated as a graphic designer with the book project "Streven naar het Ultieme Boek". The book is currently being finalized and eventually published. Behind the book is a broad investigation from interview techniques to page sketches. I have documented all sketches and proposals in various books that together embody my personal quest or pursuit of the
ultimate book.
13 Books
3,881 pages
The research is divided into 13 books, each dealing with a specific part of the book or concept. For example a book for the sketches of the title page and a book with sketches for the cover. All contain all the sketches and proposals that I have made in which I strive to create the ultimate book.
The books are bound with a cahier stitch with a linen cover. I printed the linen myself with an ink jet printer. A technique that I researched further this year when designing my thesis and inter-ship essay. The cover displays the number and number of pages. When the books are in a row, you can clearly distinguish the books from each other. The front of the covers visualize a sketch and the back the final result that will be applied in the actual publication.
